Our Story

Patrick McGill is a Certified Safety and Self Defense Expert and founder of Advance CPL & Defensive Training LLC.  With over 30 years of Law Enforcement experience, he has extensive training in firearms and self-defense techniques and has committed his career to educating the community on personal protection and gun safety.  He is a firm believer in education about the potential legal consequences of failing to take the steps necessary to be a responsible gun owner. “Knowledge and awareness can be the difference between life and death”.  

Instructor McGill believes that learning about gun safety and personal protection should be done in a relaxed setting where his clients can have an open discussion and ask questions.  He is committed to ensuring that his clients get the most out of their time with him so that they walk away feeling empowered and not afraid.

Instructor McGill also recognizes that not all of his clients want to own a gun and for them, he has designed courses to educate them on raising their awareness of their surroundings and how they can apply techniques to help them in the event that they find themselves in a dangerous situation.

“If I can save the life of a child and the destruction of a family by teaching responsible gun ownership, or if I can teach someone how to apply basic techniques to protect themselves from a harmful situation, by sharing my skills and knowledge from my years of experience, I feel that I have made a difference”

When Instructor McGill is not teaching classes or spending time with his family, he enjoys a good round of golf or working on home improvement projects.
